Vocational Education and Training (VET) at Tenison Woods
Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses offer students opportunities to undertake work related training while they are still at school. The courses enable students to earn credit towards a recognised VET qualification while completing their general education curriculum or senior secondary certificate. VET options available at Tenison Woods College include Furniture Making, Horticulture, Fitness and Hospitality. To learn more about these VET options, view our Year 10-12 Curriculum Handbook (Page 19).
VET is an excellent choice of study for many students, who will gain hands-on experience in their chosen industry, allowing them to make better career choices. Students will leave school with qualifications recognised by both the education system and industry, giving them more choices in life. They will receive credit towards traineeships and apprenticeships, giving them a head start.
All VET in Schools programs are offered in conjunction with a recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) such as TAFE SA.
As part of the Catholic Education SA STEM Learning Initiative, STEM vocational pathways have been included under the Students tab for all VET courses listed in the CESA Directory.
