St Mary’s College is an R-12 school, educating girls in the Catholic Dominican tradition. Our approach to learning is contemporary and innovative; we challenge and support our students to achieve their personal best. We pride ourselves on working with all students to find the pathway that is right for them. Our city location affords vital networks and connections with industry partners. We nurture the growth of strong women equipped to find their place in the world.
At St Mary’s College, Vocational Education and Training (VET) is integrated into Year 10, 11 and 12 studies, providing opportunities for students to pursue a vocational pathway through SACE. Students can undertake a range of vocational courses through external registered training organisations. A Flexible Learning Coordinator oversees VET enrolments and liaises with students, families and the wider community to ensure the smooth integration of the VET course with each student’s pathway. St Mary’s College has a comprehensive Career Development Education and career coaching program, providing relevant and timely support for all students and families. We offer a voluntary Work Experience program, offered initially in Year 10, to support and clarify students' career research undertaken in PLP. Senior students may undertake additional experiences during term breaks. Our Service Learning Program in Year 11 is an opportunity to further develop and shape students' vocational aspirations.
As part of the Catholic Education SA STEM Learning Initiative, STEM vocational pathways have been included under the Students tab for all VET courses listed in the CESA Directory.
