Skills Lab

Skills Lab is a registered training organisation and a SAGE Group company, created specifically to meet the demand for high-quality learning, targeting current and future industry needs.

As industry experts, our trainers offer a new approach to skills development; delivering hands-on training in our labs, at workplaces, or remotely using our cyber physical training capability.

All of our specified training courses are tailored to support learning outcomes. In 2020, Skills Lab has launched a nationally accredited course to upskill the Australian workforce in the use of smart technology and the navigation of a data-driven ecosystem. This Higher Apprenticeship for the Diploma of Applied Technologies has an engineering specialisation that provides an employment based learning programme.

Skills Lab has partnered with SA Power Networks as the lead organisation to deliver the nation’s first industry-based Diploma of Applied technologies with an engineering stream, supporting learners and organisations in their pursuit of a future focused and innovative workforce.

STEM FastTrack

STEM Fast Track shows high school students the possibilities of STEM careers through industry-focused mentoring programs, to help them develop the confidence and resilience needed to thrive in their career and in life. We seek to cultivate young minds that will one day pioneer the technological advancements of tomorrow, giving humanity and our planet the best possible future.

We aim to empower and impact ten thousand high school students by 2022 through our STEM-focused mentoring programs and industry networking events, which also support businesses, educators and families to help the next generation in creating a better world.

Our flagship programs are STEM Sista and STEM Mista.

She Maps

She Maps is a Certified Social Enterprise with a focus on increasing the diversity in STEM. They run STEM edutainment programs in schools and online, supporting both teachers and students.

Their most popular program is their Drone Roadshow, where students are given the opportunity to fly a drone and become a geospatial scientist for the day, gathering data to help the local authorities. This program has been delivered to over 6,500 students and teachers around Australia and the world. Their teacher resources in Orbit support teacher professional development and provide Units of Work for integration into the classroom.

All programs are mapped to the Australian Curriculum, and support problem-based learning and 21st Century Skills development.
